The Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation (TLI) is thrilled to share some groundbreaking news that marks a significant leap forward in our ongoing commitment to revolutionize healthcare: TLI has officially accepted ownership of the Limb Loss and Preservation Registry (LLPR™) in collaboration with the Amputee Coalition.
The LLPR, initially established in 2018 under a contract funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has played a crucial role in standardizing, measuring, and reporting patient outcomes data to enhance limb loss treatment and preservation efforts across the nation. With this transfer of ownership from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to TLI, we are now poised to embark on an exciting journey to further the LLPR's mission.
The LLPR serves as a centralized data warehouse, addressing critical public health knowledge gaps, refining rehabilitation approaches and guiding the development of functional devices for individuals with limb loss and limb difference. As part of TLI, the Registry will continue its multi-stakeholder model, fostering collaboration among care providers in hospital and orthotics and prostheses practices, payers, device manufacturers and regulatory agencies.
This transition marks a significant stride in our collective journey to drive healthcare innovation and enhance outcomes for individuals facing limb loss and limb difference. Together with the Amputee Coalition, we remain steadfast in providing essential resources and support, ensuring that individuals navigating the complexities of limb loss and limb difference are not alone in their journey.
