Nymbl Systems adds newest advisor, Brian Sandager, Chief Operating Officer of Cerner Government Services

Lexington, Ky. –September 15, 2020
– As the Nymbl team welcomes its newest advisor, Brian Sandager, to its Advisor Panel, we are eager to learn from his guidance and apply his years of industry experience to improve our organization. Sandager will be its first advisor outside of the Orthotic and Prosthetic industry. He will join our current advisors Lesleigh Sisson, Chris Doerger, and Glenn Matsushima. Sandager, the 2020 recipient of Washington Exec’s Chief Operating Officer of the Year award, brings operational, macroeconomics of healthcare, and large-scale healthcare information technology experience to the team.
A graduate from the University of Kansas, Sandager earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting. In 2001, Sandager joined Cerner Corporation and quickly moved into a financial role supporting the consulting business across the world. Over the next decade, he managed Cerner’s life sciences business on the West Coast, led operations in Australia and delivered new business in Southeast Asia before moving on to lead Cerner’s Central European businesses. Upon returning to the US in 2010, he led delivery and growth across multiple states and large health systems before being appointed CIO for Circle Health in Massachusetts. During the last two decades, Sandager gained indispensable knowledge about the health care industry and emerged as an industry and corporate leader.
In April 2019, Sandager moved into a new role as the first Chief Operating Officer of Cerner Government Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cerner Corporation, which is focused on transforming how the government delivers health care by bringing the best of its commercial practices, breakthrough innovation and global experience to serve the unique missions of its federal military and civilian health clients including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense and the U.S Coast Guard.
When Sandager was asked about his primary focus at Cerner, he stated, “Our focus will remain on the transformation of health care. Our Veterans, Service members and caregivers deserve the best health care possible. As a nation, we need to evolve how we deliver health care as our economy and future depends on it.”
Nymbl Systems is revolutionizing the orthotic and prosthetic industry by solving complex problems with simple solutions. It leverages the latest technologies to simplify workflow and let practices focus on what matters most – the patients. By reducing training, time spent in the software, and reporting Nymbl allows practices to grow faster. Nymbl is always looking to improve as a company and as a practice management solution, Brian will be a key advisor to help with this moving forward.
The Nymbl team is incredibly thankful for the opportunity to learn from Sandager’s valuable industry knowledge of how large-scale healthcare information systems operate, grow, excel, and thrive. Applying his expertise, mentality, and experience to Nymbl will allow for faster growth, improvements within the software, and a better user and patient experience. Josh Lau, CEO of Nymbl Systems, had this to say about the new addition to the team, “Brian is the perfect fit for our Advisor Panel, he has the right mindset, persona, and experience to help put Nymbl on the right track to become the perfect practice management solution in orthotics and prosthetics.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) has quickly moved from a futuristic buzzword to a practical reality — and the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) industry is taking notice.
New research reveals that 80% of O&P practice leaders are interested in using AI and machine learning (ML) to streamline operations, improve documentation, and enhance patient workflows. In an environment where shrinking margins, workforce shortages, and rising patient expectations are daily pressures, practices that adopt AI will have a powerful advantage.
